The Gulf South Conference Champion Bucs will face North Alabama for the second time in a week Saturday in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II South Regional in Lakeland, Fla.
 
 
Bucs Seeded Fifth in South Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--The Christian Brothers University Bucs have been seeded fifth in the NCAA Division II South Regional, which will be played March 15-18 in Lakeland, Fla.

The Bucs (22-9) earned an automatic berth in the South Regional by winning the Gulf South Conference Tournament Sunday afternoon, beating Harding 93-89. The South Regional berth is the first in school history for CBU, which narrowly missed in 2003-04 and 2006-07.

CBU will face North Alabama in the first round on Saturday, a week after beating the Lions 80-69 in the semifinals of the GSC Tournament.

Florida Southern, the top seed and champion of the Sunshine State Conference, will host the tournament and take on Ouachita Baptist. The winner of that game will face the CBU-UNA winner in the second round on Sunday.

Benedict, the SIAC champion, was seeded second and will play Eckerd in the first round. The other quarterfinal game will be between Tampa and Harding.
