Donna Crone is in her ninth season as head softball coach at CBU.

In eight years, she has coached eight players named to the Academic All-Gulf South Conference Team, including four in the last three seasons. Jenny Bernard was named an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-American in 2006.

Crone has coached 12 All-GSC West Division players, including three first-teamers, Megan Pilkington in 2004 and Nikki Dunn in 2006 and 2007. Dunn was named the GSC West Co-Pitcher of the Year in 2007.

Dunn and Pilkington also won the GSC West Freshman of the Year award. Pilkington earned it in 2001 and Dunn in 2006.

March 15, 2000, CBU set and still owns the NCAA Division II record for triples in one game with seven.

Her experience in softball includes 17 years of coaching women's softball (Sherry's Hallmark) in the Memphis Park Commission, winning 12 league championships, two runner-up titles in the city championships and two Memphis City Championships. Crone also served as athletic director for St. Michael Church and School for four years.

Crone is also the Senior Woman Administrator and the NCAA Compliance Officer for CBU. She graduated from CBU with a B.S. in business in 1983 and earned a Master's in Business Education from the University of Memphis in 1988. Crone played two seasons of basketball and two seasons of tennis at CBU, earning the team MVP award in tennis as a senior.

She lives in Cordova with husband Chris (CBU, '76) and children Kristen and Justin.
