Final Stats

MEMPHIS--Visiting Southern Arkansas kept its Gulf South Conference Tournament hopes alive with a hard-fought four-game victory over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Friday night at Canale Arena.

The Lady Muleriders (8-18, 4-5 GSC West) pulled within a game of fourth-place Ouachita Baptist with their 30-28, 30-25, 28-30, 30-20 win. The top four teams from each division earn berths in the GSC Tournament.

Maggie Ross led SAU with 19 kills, while Shelly Jones had 11 kills to go with a match-best 34 digs. Mallory McKee added 27 digs, while Kaci Matthews collected 20 as SAU picked up 120 digs as a team.

Junior outside hitter Jenna Cherry (Covington, La./Covington HS) led the Lady Bucs with 15 kills and seven blocks. She also had 17 digs. Junior libero Bridget Buckley (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS) led CBU with 22 digs. Freshman outside hitter Michelle Hein (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 19 digs, while sophomore setter Brenna Blackburn (Sandy, Utah/Brighton HS) had 14 digs to go with a match-high 46 assists. Junior middle blocker Aubrey Pancratz (Chandler, Ariz./Corona del Sol HS) added 11 kills for the Lady Bucs.

CBU will be back in action Tuesday night as they welcome first-place Harding to Canale Arena for a 7 p.m. start.
